Public health England and Active Working Community Interest announced the average amount of sitting time for a working person in the UK is 9 hours each day, approved by expert J P Buckley et al.
The severe and harmful effects of prolonged inactivity include an increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes, cancer, heart disease and premature death. This has led Active Cheshire to refer to sitting as ‘the new smoking.’
Fabric IT are keen to ensure that a positive culture is at the heart of their business. The company places a strong emphasis on customer service, building and maintaining relationships with clients.
Sales Director of Fabric IT, Carl Enser, said “Happy and healthy people will result in a more productive workforce, and therefore, more happy and satisfied customers.”
Anne Boyd, CEO of Active Cheshire “With employers receiving help and support from our physical activity advisors, we’ll be able to see great change with the employees energy levels – from being physically active. We want to make physical activity accessible to all workplaces by changing the way people think, just 3 minutes of walking can reduce your blood pressure.”
Most of what Active Cheshire does is to do with change. By encouraging behavioural change, changing attitudes, mindsets, and habits. The Charity are constantly learning to adapt to the needs and challenges in an increasingly inactive society.
