Are you an everyday superhero that deserves to be recognised or do you know one that does? You have until the 14th June to get your nomination in!
Active Cheshire has launched the upcoming Everyday Superhero Awards evening to celebrate the everyday superheroes who inspire others to move more. These individuals may make a difference to one or many lives in Cheshire and Warrington through movement.
Anyone can apply or nominate for these awards, there are no restrictions on nominations: a grandparent getting their grandchildren active to an active workplace encouraging employees to adopt healthier active habits. With just 5 questions to answer to enter, they have been overwhelmed with the inspiring stories about activity and recovery in physical and mental wellbeing.
There are 7 categories to pick from; Active Kids Superhero Award (sponsored by New Balance), Active Workplace Superhero Award (sponsored by West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber Of Commerce), Active Minds Superhero Award (sponsored by RedEye International), Active Neighbourhood Superhero Award, Health & Social Care Superhero Award, Community Sport Superhero Award (sponsored by PelliTec) and the David Newton Superhero Award.
Anne Boyd, CEO of Active Cheshire “It’s been proven by many studies, getting active is essential for our health and wellbeing. It’s fantastic seeing so many applications and touching stories for these awards, which is what the event is all about. We’re very excited to celebrate those unsung activists who get people’s hearts beating faster through exercise. I am proud to announce our sponsors New Balance, West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce, PelliTec and RedEye International who all agree in rewarding those individuals who go the extra mile helping people everywhere to get active.”
This year’s winners will reflect a diverse group of large and small organizations as well as individuals from around Cheshire and Warrington. The winners will be announced in September at the award ceremony at Chester Racecourse.
Most of what Active Cheshire does is to do with change. By encouraging behavioural change, changing attitudes, mindsets, and habits. They are constantly learning to adapt to the needs and challenges of an increasingly inactive society.
