Active Cheshire is proud to announce that they are nominees for the second year running in the North West Charity Awards. The event celebrates charities and non-for-profit organisations, recognizing their hard work and promoting best practice.
The Cheshire and Warrington-based charity are running in two categories. The first being ‘Fundraising Event of the Year’ for their flagship event Playfest, aimed at encouraging community, businesses, and schools to come together from across the region to take on exciting challenges, including the worlds longest inflatable obstacle course (at over 1000ft long!). Raising over £5000 and nearly getting nearly 5000 people involved has placed Active Cheshire’s Playfest amongst the top charity events in the running for this category.
Active Cheshire is also in the running for North West Charity of the Year, a prestigious category with tough competition. The local charity is hoping to mirror their success at the North West Charity awards in 2017 where they received ‘highly commended’ for North West Charity of the Year.
“We’re so incredibly proud to be nominated once again for not one, but two awards at the North West Charity Awards,” said Anne Boyd, CEO of Active Cheshire, “it’s so encouraging to see the fantastic work charities across the North West to be recognized at such an impressive event, including our close partners, Warrington Disability Partnership.
“Regardless of the result on the day, I would like to take a moment to thank the Active Cheshire team and board of trustees, our hardworking volunteers, and all the fantastic organisations we are so proud to call our partners for helping us tackle inactivity in Cheshire and Warrington. Without all of your help, our goal to reduce inactivity by 15% by 2040 would be impossible.”
