On behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Active Cheshire hosted the Primary School PE and School Sport Exhibition on 24th March 2015. The event took place at Upton-by-Chester High School with the aim to support primary schools to maximise the impact of PE and Sport Premium funding. The event was attended by a range of delegates from local primary schools including Head Teachers, Assistant Head Teachers, PE Coordinators, School Business Managers and Governors. The event built on from last year Cheshire and Warrington Primary PE and School Sport Exhibition to increase attendance by localising the event.
The afternoon comprised two elements - sport providers exhibition and the launch of the Primary School Club Links Booklet.
The exhibition aims at ensuring schools are aware of the range of opportunities, providers, and partnerships that can be invested in to benefit the pupils and school. The exhibitor provided opportunities for delegates to meet and sample a wide range of operators, providers and local sports clubs, to hear first hand what they could offer the school, and to discuss with other local schools the different ways and approaches in implementing the funding. Feedback from the event shows that schools found the opportunity to network with providers and other schools really useful.
The aim of this booklet is to provide primary schools across the local authority with information and guidance on how school club links can help to maximise the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding and improve their PE and School Sport provision. This will also help integrate the school further within the community and provide more opportunities for pupils beyond the school gates. The booklet is available to download below.
