Sport England release APS 10
Sport England today released the latest figures from the Active People Survey. It's great news for Cheshire and Warrington who have achieved participation rates significantly higher than the national average. Cheshire and Warrington now rates as the fourth most active sub-region in the country.
- Locally, for 16+, Cheshire & Warrington sub-region has increased from 39.1% since APS9 (December 2015) to 40.5%. An increase of 3.3% from the first APS baseline in 2005/6 when it stood at 37.2%.
- Despite recent impressive growth, Cheshire West and Chester Council area experiences, for the first time in 3 years, a decrease from 43.2% to 38.7% since APS9. In spite of the decrease over the last six months, participation rates remain higher than the baseline of 2005/6 where the result stood at 36.7%.
- Cheshire East Council area continues to drive forward growth from 37% to 42.7% since APS9; an impressive increase of 5.7% from the first APS baseline in 2005/6 when it stood at 37.2%.
- Warrington Council area also continues to see improvement, realising growth from 36.1% at APS9 to 39.3%, an increase from the first APS baseline in 2005/6 when it stood at 38.5%
