Coaching ‘Mindset’ Conference

Are you a coach interested in getting the best performance from your players? If the answer is yes, why not come and attend the Coaching Mindset Conference being held by Warrington Borough Council the Active Warrington Partnership and ‘State of Mind’ mental health in sport charity.
The workshop will take place at the University of Chester campus in Padgate, Warrington on 11 November between 6.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. The event will play host to athletes and experts in order to discuss developing mental resilience in sports. The evening is suitable for coaches of any discipline and those interested in the psychology of sports performance.
The evening will open with a presentation from Professor Damian Hughes, who began his career at Manchester United. He now combines his practical and academic background within sport, organisation and change psychology to work as a trusted adviser to the business, education and sporting elite, specialising in the creation of a high performance culture.
Professor Hughes is also the author of Liquid Thinking, Liquid Leadership, How to Change Absolutely Anything, How to Think Like Sir Alex Ferguson and three acclaimed sports biographies of Sugar Ray Robinson, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler.

In addition, a panel of sporting VIPs from the worlds of Rugby League, Football, Gymnastics and Motor Racing have been assembled to discuss how they develop a winning mind-set. Representatives from the ‘State of Mind’ charity will deliver a discussion on how to promote positive mental health in sports. Food and drink will be available as part of the evening.
