Best playing field competition

The Les George OBE Memorial Award

Made in memory of Les George OBE, former Chairman of the Cheshire County Playing Fields Association.

Entry to the competition is exclusive to CCPFA members in Cheshire West & Chester; Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington. Any member, whether Parish or Town council, sports club or organisation – indeed anybody or group involved in the management of playing fields, children’s playgrounds or sports grounds – is welcome to enter. 

Complete this entry form to enter; send in with a minimum of 4 photographs of the area you are entering Include a 100 word maximum explanation on the reason your playing field should win, please include the following points:

 Usage

 Community involvement

 Quality of area

Equipment should be safe and well maintained. The safety surfaces should be well maintained and safe to use. 

Play equipment in the grounds of public houses will not be included.

Fields should be well kept and free of litter and dog fouling.

All entries will be considered by an independent panel and may be visited for inspection.

The Award will be presented by Karen Tonge MBE at the Community Pride Awards Evening Thursday 15th October 2015.
